Olubusola Tunde Shemudara of the African Law programme of our Institute successfully defended his PhD thesis on Monday, 29 January 2018.
He worked on ‘Ayélála Traditional Criminal Trial and the English Criminal Justice System among the Ìlàjẹ and Àpọ́ì of Ondo State, Nigeria’. He was supervised by Dr T.K. Adekunle, coordinator of the African Law Unit of IAS-UI.
IAS Director, Dr O.I. Pogoson, was chairperson of the examination panel. Prof A.I. Olatunbosun of the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan, was the Internal External Examiner, while Prof Adedeji of the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University, was the External Examiner. Dr C.O. Jegede (IAS Sub-Dean) was also a member of the examination panel.
