The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof Idowu Abel Olayinka, and his management team hosted outgoing and incoming Deans of Faculties and Directors of Institutes to a luncheon at the Dome, Sultan Bello Hall, on 1st August, 2018.
At the ceremony, Prof Olayinka congratulated outgoing Deans and Directors for their meritorious service in overseeing both academic and administrative activities in their respective Faculties and Institutes. He acknowledged their efforts in taking the University of Ibadan to even greater heights in the period, and encouraged incoming Deans and Directors to match and surpass the achievements recorded, as the University approaches its seventieth anniversary.
The ceremony officially marked a change of helmsman at IAS-UI, as Prof O.I. Pogoson has now been succeeded by Dr I.A. Jimoh as Director of the Institute of African Studies. We welcome our new Director, Dr Jimoh, a specialist in Arabic Manuscriptology, and one of the longest-serving members of staff in IAS-UI. We say well done and a mighty thank you to Prof Pogoson for the marvellous transformations he initiated and executed during his tenure.
