As the University of Ibadan marks its 71st anniversary, one of the events to kick off this year’s Founder’s Day and Convocation Ceremony is an exhibition of the works of internationally acclaimed sculptor Adeola Balogun at the Cornelius Adepegba Museum of African Art (CAMAA).

Adeola Balogun’s works have been showcased in cities around the world, and in this exhibition titled Current Rhythm, he presents his most recent productions, taking us on a journey into techniques and applications that reveal his latest engagements with his metal medium, as well as his exploration of new idioms of creative expression that reflect on the spaces of intersection between the personal and the social.

Curated by Prof O.I. Pogoson, Current Rhythm opens on Nov 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. prompt, with Dr Charles Diji Akinola, Chief of Staff to the Governor, State of Osun, as Chair of the occasion. Other dignitaries expected at the opening are Oba Adewale Osiberu, the Elepe of Epe, and Oba Adeleke Basibo, the Alaperu of Iperu.

Members of the University community and the general public are cordially invited to attend the opening ceremony, and to visit CAMAA, Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every week, to view the works on display. The exhibition runs till Jan 31, 2020.
