The first solo exhibition of the works of Wole Ayoola will open at the Cornelius Adepegba Museum of African Art (CAMAA) at our Institute on 13 September, 2018.
The exhibition titled ‘The Route’ features 50 works, including paintings, mixed media, and drawings, and is curated by Prof O.I. Pogoson.
Trained as a fine artist at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, specializing in painting, Ayoola has worked as a graphic artist and illustrator for agencies and security print firms. He was also an art teacher, but is now a full-time studio artist practising in Ibadan.
‘The Route’, commemorating his fiftieth birthday, is a symbolic narrative on the path he has pursued since he discovered his artistic being as a little boy growing up in Ile-Ife.
