As the University of Ibadan marks its 71st anniversary, one of the events to kick off this year’s Founder’s Day and Convocation Ceremony is an exhibition of the works of internationally acclaimed sculptor Adeola Balogun at the Cornelius Adepegba Museum of African Art (CAMAA).

Tony Marinho, medical doctor and social activist, orator, poet and writer, a friend of our Institute, is showing a different side of his creative personality in a photographic exhibition mounted in the IAS foyer.
From 26 September to 31 October 2019, the trio of Bola Opadiran, Bolaji Aremu, and Joseph Kolawole will have their works mounted in the Cornelius Adepegba Museum of African Art (CAMAA) in a joint exhibition titled The Tentacles, curated by Prof. O.I. Pogoson, immediate past IAS Director.
Segun Fagurosi, a student of the Institute on the MA programme in African Visual Arts, is part of an eight-artist exhibition currently on at Mydrim Gallery, Lagos.
The exhibition titled Generations (The ‘Future Masters’ Series) is curated by Mr Abiodun Olaku.
A series of events are billed for the month of November, all centring on the Institute’s Museum, which has been renamed the Cornelius Adepegba Museum of African Art (CAMAA), following approval to that effect by the Governing Council of the University of Ibadan on 6 July, 2018.
Moyo Ogundipe, who passed away on March 10, was an artist with a consummate relish for colour. In recognition of the fact that his demise has left an unfillable vacuum in contemporary Nigerian art, his family and friends gathered at Drapers Hall on the 3rd of May for a Night of Tributes.

The first solo exhibition of the works of Wole Ayoola will open at the Cornelius Adepegba Museum of African Art (CAMAA) at our Institute on 13 September, 2018.
As part of activities and events marking the 68th convocation of the University of Ibadan, the Institute of African Studies is featuring an exhibition of the works of the renowned painter Duke Asidere. Curated by the Director of the Institute, Dr O.I. Pogoson, Asidere’s Springs of Hope exhibition runs from 10 November, 2016 to 30 January, 2017 at the Museum of the Institute. The exhibition shall be declared open by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Abel Idowu Olayinka, on November 10 at 5:00 p.m.

Come February 2018, an exhibition of the work of master batik artist Tunde Odunlade, titled Oju’nu Agba Oye, will open at the Museum of the Institute. The exhibition is curated by IAS Director, Dr O.I. Pogoson.

The works of a group of young Nigerian artists will be on exhibition at the Museum of the Institute from the 15th to the 30th of this month.
The exhibition tagged Convergence, curated by the Director of the Institute, Dr O.I. Pogoson, features Segun Fagurosi, Femi Oyewole and Rashidat Ibrahim, all of whom are recent graduates of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Fagurosi is currently on the master’s degree programme in Visual Arts at IAS.
