We were glad to host an international workshop featuring a team of researchers from the University of the Witwatersrand on the project ‘Transforming the Humanities through Interdisciplinary Knowledge’ (THInK).
The WORDOC/IFRA monthly seminar, billed to hold at Lady Bank-Anthony Hall, Institute of African Studies on November 30, 2017, was shifted to the Ibadan School of Government and Public Policy, 24 Awolowo Road, Bodija.

Plans towards the 3rd International Symposium on Ogori Culture and People are already under way as IAS-UI liaises with the Association of African Universities (AAU), the Department of Linguistics, University of Ilorin, the National Open University of Nigeria, and other partners at home and abroad to organize this event.

The final event of the WORDOC 30th anniversary conference was a village square meeting at Lady Bank-Anthony Hall, which brought together grassroots women groups and women from the academic and professional sectors to deliberate on some of the pressing issues that confront women in Nigerian society.

An international conference organized by the IAS Gender Studies programme and its initiative the Women Advancement Forum: International Exchanges, Research and Academia (WAFIRA) comes up between June 28 and 29, 2018 at the Segun Aganga Hall, International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan. The theme of the conference is ‘Repositioning Women in Service and Development: Research, Policy, Activism, Aesthetics’.
